Andy Dufresne (played by Tim Robbins), a promising young banker, is wrongfully convicted of murdering his wife and her lover, receiving a life sentence. He is sent to Shawshank State Prison, a notorious facility filled with brutal inmates and corrupt guards. There, Andy meets Red (played by Morgan Freeman), a long-term inmate who can source any item, and the two form a deep, lasting friendship.
